Al and Mike Hejna Run 1-2 at Farley
FARLEY, Iowa (Aug. 16) -- The O'Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series invaded the Farley (Iowa) Speedway on Wednesday for a $2,000-to-win tilt and the final event before the kickoff of 'The Hunt' for the O'Reilly USMTS National Championship.

With the top-10 in the final Central Region locked in prior to the start of the event, drivers were able to focus squarely on the checkered flag and hope to move up a couple spots in the standings. When all was said and done, the 30-lap main event turned into a family affair as the "Palace of Speed" was transformed into the "House of Hejna" for the night.

From the outside of the front row, Al Hejna jumped out to the lead of the 24-car field and set a torrid pace on the lightning-fast half-mile clay oval. "The A-Train" never saw a nose the rest of the way as he led the entire distance to score his first O’Reilly USMTS victory of the season. Hejna's younger brother, Mike, took the runner-up spot to make it a Hejna brothers 1-2 finish.

Al Grabs Top 5 at Benton County, Mike Suffers Mechanical Woes
Hejna Brothers Racing started a five-day swing on the USMTS trail Tuesday night with a stop at the Benton County Speedway.

Mike had to deal with mechanical troubles most of the night. He was not able to make the call for his heat race because of it. He started deep in the B-Main, but he made the most of it by finishing second. During the A-Main, mechanical troubles kick back up, and Mike was forced to retire early (official finish = 22).

Al rolled off for the A-Main in 14th. While battling with Corey Dripps just outside of the Top 5, the two made contact coming off of turn four. Corey drove up over Al's right front tire. Corey hit the front stretch wall nearly head on. Once Corey caught his breath, he was able to walk away. The two talked on the track and afterwards in the pits, and the two just dismissed it as a racing deal. Al stayed steady with an ill-handling race car with a third place finish.
