Runner Up At Nobles County
On Saturday night, Nobles County Speedway (Worthington, MN) marked the end of rough and tumble two-week through the upper Midwest for the USMTS Stars. Al Hejna took the win in his heat race, and that set him up for a start in the A-Main.
On a smooth track with multiple racing grooves, Hejna launched into the lead from the pole position and led the first dozen orbits before relinquishing the top spot to Shryock. "A Train" kept Shryock within striking distance and made a run for the lead late in the race. Lapped traffic worked in Shryock's favor, however, and Hejna had to settle for the runner-up paycheck and his best finish since switching to a new Harris chassis three weeks ago.

Rough Night at L A, Top 5 at Bolivar
The stop at the L A Raceway in LaMonte, MO was a rough night for Al Hejna. A fourth place finish in his heat, put him into a B-Main. A third palce finish was good enough to make the show, but Al was not able to make up any ground once the green fell for the A-Main. Official finish was 11th.
This worked better on Friday night as the A-Train would grab a Top 5 finish at Bolivar Speedway USA in Bolivar, MO. It was the kick off the three-day, three-track 4th Annual Missouri Nationals. Saturday will take Hejna Brothers Racing to Lebanon, MO followed by a trip to Monett, MO.

Mike Hejna Wins at Highway 3
Mike Hejna claimed his first O’Reilly Auto Parts United States Modified Touring Series win of the season Tuesday with a dominating wire-to-wire victory at the Highway 3 Raceway in Allison, Iowa. The win was worth $2,000 and was his first since September 4, 2006.
Hejna drew the pole position for the 30-lap Holley “A” Main and jumped out to a three-car-length advantage by the second orbit. Al Hejna — the older of the two brothers who co-own Rookies Rockin’ Sports Bar in Clear Lake, Iowa — gave chase for the first half of the race before a broken rearend thwarted his opportunity to pick up his first win in his new Harris Chassis Modified.
From there, Mike was never challenged en route to the checkered flag at the half-mile Butler County Fairgrounds oval.
