USMTS Labor Day Weekend Recap
SUNDAY: Dodge Co. Speedway / Kasson, MN
Hejna qualified 7th for the A-Main, and he stayed right there through the A-Main finishing 8th.
SATURDAY: Deer Creek Speedway / Spring Valley, MN
As usual, it was a top notch field at "The Creek." Hejna was deep in the starting grid for his A-Main, but he charged forward to grab a transfer spot. The A-Train was moving forward when he was derailed by trouble in front of him ending his nite early. Official finish 17th.
FRIDAY: Chateau Raceway / Lansing, MN
The Harris Auto Racing number "7" had to make the show through a B-Main. That left Hejna burried deep int he field for the A-Main. Tight racing didn't allow Hejna to move to far forward - official finish 14th.
THURSDAY: Highway 3 Raceway / Allison, IA
Racing his way into the A-Main through his heat race, Hejna started 13th for the 25-lap A-Main. It was a fast, but rough, racetrack. Hejna finished 5th.
Fourth at Upper Iowa
[Decorah, IA] - - Al Hejna Racing grabbed another Top Five finish on the "Hunt for the USMTS Championship." Saturday, August 16th was a night of racing at Upper Iowa Speedway. After starting tenth on the tight quarter-mile speedway, Hejna drove the Harris Auto Racing number "7" to a fourth place finish.

At this time, the next stop for AHR will be Thursday, August 28th at the Highway 3 Raceway (Allison, IA). It will be the seventh night in "The Hunt."
Hejna Grabs Win In Fountain City
[Fountain City, WI] - - The fifth event in the Hunt for the USMTS National Championship produced a fifth different winner Friday night as Al Hejna captured the Holley "A" Main at the Tri-Oval Speedway in Fountain City, Wis.
Polesitter Jake Neal led the first circuit of the 30-lap main event before giving way to AFCO Pole Award winner Dean Mahlstedt.
Mahlstedt's reign was cut short four laps later when mechanical woes sidelined the Clear Lake, Iowa, pilot.
Hejna—also from Clear Lake—assumed the top spot and paced the final 25 laps to claim his first win of the Hunt and third overall this season. (from www.usmts.com)
Thursday night Hejna finished 10th at the Steele County Fairgrounds (Owantonna, MN). He suffered a "DNF" Tuesday night at 36 Raceway (Osborn, MN). The number "7" grabbed a 4th place finish at the Bellville High Banks. Hejna started the Hunt for the USMTS Championship Friday, August 8th with a solid 3rd place finish at the Midway Speedway (Lebanon, MO).
With five races in the books for the USMTS Championship, Hejna sits 5th overall in the point standings.
Hejna Runs 3rd as USMTS Championship Run Begins
Al Hejna Racing hit the road this weekend as the USMTS kicked off their version of the chase. "The Hunt" for the USMTS Championship began Friday, August 8th at Midway Speedway (Lebanon, MO). Hejna ran up front all night. He took the win in his heat race, and Hejna finished third in the A-Main.
Second Straight Top 10 Coming at Bloomfield
Al Hejna Racing raced with the USMTS at Bloomfield Speedway (Bloomfield, IA). Hejna won his heat, and he finished 10th in the A-Main.
